Nominations Open & New Categories Announced for 2023 AMA’s

Nominations are being accepted for the 2023 Asian Media Awards.

This year’s ceremony returns to Manchester on Friday October 27. Ahead of this an Official Shortlist Announcement will take place on Monday September 18.

The deadline for all entries is Friday August 18.

The awards celebrate journalism, radio, television, online, theatre, creative media and marketing. Five special awards will highlight the work of actors, journalists, writers and broadcasters who have helped to define the media landscape with their outstanding work.

The 2023 ceremony Premier Partner is the University of Salford.

A new honour ‘a Diversity in Media’ Award aims to celebrate the work of an organisation and brand which has made concerted and genuine effort to improve representation and produce diverse content at all levels.

It recognises the attempts to improve diversity at leadership and management levels; produce content and performances which are catered towards diverse audiences; Or make genuine efforts to train staff through specific scholarships or training towards all under-represented groups.

In addition to this an Outstanding Stage Performance award will recognises an individual for their performance in a drama, musical and live production.

The Women in Journalism group is being welcomed as a new awards partner. Women in Journalism is a not-for-profit organisation provides guidance and support for members who come from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds and work across all platforms around the UK and overseas.

A spokesperson for the Asian Media Awards said: “The awards have celebrated some outstanding work over the past decade and helped to shine a light on some brilliant individuals from all sections within the media industry.

“This year will be no different and we look forward to welcoming colleagues from across the country to the city of Manchester in October.”
