Multimedia Journalist
Ruby Zaman is an international multimedia journalist with a 14-year career in 24-hour live broadcast news. She is currently exploring digital storytelling with Al Jazeera Media Networks’ award-winning podcast team, producing episodes for ‘The Take’ – the network’s Washington-based flagship news and current affairs podcast.
Ruby has a profound interest in human rights stories and those that give a voice to marginalised communities around the world.
She holds a Masters in Global Diplomacy from SOAS, University of London and has also studied at The Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford.
Most recently she completed a course with the Thomson Reuters Foundation on reporting human rights.
As well as her involvement in the Asian Media Awards, Ruby is also on the judging panel for the British Podcast Awards.
